I grew up in a typical Chinese family in Singapore and never believed in God till the age of 16. I came to know Christ through the Chick Publications Tracts. It transformed me into a child of God and catapulted me into 'His Majestic Service'!
In 1982, I pastored my first church, the Singapore Bible Baptist Church, and in 1985, I had the privilege to start the Shalom Baptist Church with 10 chartered members. By 2020, we were running about 250 in attendance. In 2000, I was instrumental in the birth of the Shaddai Baptist Church. The Lord has blessed me with a modest part in these three Independent Baptist Churches. Besides pastoring, I am blessed with a wonderful wife and four lovely children.
Over the years in the pastorate, I was burdened to be used of the Lord also in the ministry of the printed page. My first book, 'The Soul-Winner's Handy Guide', was designed to be a practical book to give confidence to the soul-winners to engage the lost in an intellectual and meaningful way in this 21st century era - to give to 'every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you.' (1 Peter 3:15) Too often, we pastors are guilty of pushing our folks to win souls without showing them how. They do not need another guilt trip but someone to journey alongside with them to show them the hows to lead a soul to the Lord. To this end was the book written and being used in some bible colleges both in the States and in South-East Asia.
Soon, other books followed: 'In Silence, I Cry' - a systematic study on Suffering, and Darwin's Universe - 'From Nothing, By Nothing, For Nothing' - on the ingenious claims and depressive nature of a godless Evolution.
Besides pastoring and writing, I was doing sporadic bible conferences in the Asia Pacific Realm - from Fiji and Australia to the Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, etc. It is always a privilege to be a sinner saved by grace and a saint to storm the gates of hell.
